The latest instrument watch from TAG Heuer combines the features of a dive watch with the capability for travel across time zones. The AQUARACER PROFESSIONAL 300 GMT, confidently capable of 300 meters of water resistance and displaying a second time zone, invites you to enchanting landscapes with its proven reliable movement and two-tone ceramic bezel.

TAG Heuer began producing waterproof watches already at the end of the 19th century: in 1895, it created the world's first waterproof pocket watch case. Modern versions of this are the current Aquaracers, which already meet dive watch standards and have been part of the collection since 1982 (initially under the name Series 2000).

TAG Heuer set six technical expectations for the Aquaracer watches: a rotating bezel, screw-down crown, at least 200 meters of water resistance, luminescent markers, sapphire crystal glass, and a double safety clasp on the bracelet. Obviously, individual Aquaracer models can offer even more features, as we will soon see with the Professional 300 GMT.

Its name reflects its water resistance rating, which is 300 meters. This means the 43-millimeter stainless steel case has excellent seals at the joints, the crown, and the sapphire crystal glass. This is useful for everyday wear—providing protection against dirt and debris—as well as for diving, underwater excursions, or any water sports.

The AQUARACER PROFESSIONAL 300 GMT also features an additional watch complication—a technical enhancement that makes the basic mechanical movement more complex. This is the hand on the central axis that displays a second time zone on a 24-hour scale.

The GMT hand, like the smoothly, almost flowing-moving seconds hand, is coated in yellow lacquer, which provides a striking contrast against the deep blue dial for excellent legibility. The Swiss-made Super-LumiNova® coating on the hands and octagonal markers allows the time to be read even in poor visibility conditions, such as underwater dives.

On the traditionally horizontally striped dial, a date window is hidden under a magnifying lens at 6 o'clock.
The two-tone, white and blue rotating functional bezel easily separates day from night. A small detail worth noting is that the two colors meet at the center of the 6 o'clock position, yet the transition between the white and blue ceramic is executed perfectly.

Reliable operation is ensured by the Calibre 7 automatic movement, supplied by TAG Heuer via Sellita, with a power reserve of 50 hours. Turning the watch over, the case back features the traditional diver suit relief emblem characteristic of the Aquaracer series, both tactile and visually striking.

WBP2010.BA0632 folding clasp on the metal bracelet
You can choose between a stainless steel bracelet or a deep blue rubber strap, in both cases the double safety folding clasp offers micro-adjustment. Originally developed for diving suits, this solution is also useful in everyday life, for example when traveling from cold weather to a warmer climate and needing to quickly loosen the strap.
