At the end of the 19th century, Longines was already producing pocket watches that could display two time zones simultaneously. These were called "Turkish watches" because merchants and travelers could see the time in the Ottoman Empire and Western Europe at the same time, eliminating the need to constantly switch between time zones. Continuing this tradition, the "Zulu Time" watch was created in 1925: it showed world time (UTC, or Zulu in military terminology) alongside local time for pilots and navigators, facilitating air navigation and radio communication.

The 2025 centenary edition, the Longines Spirit Zulu Time 1925, celebrates the 100th anniversary of the legendary model.

The face of the new campaign is Henry Cavill, Longines' ambassador of elegance, who rose to fame playing Superman in the DC universe. In the commercial, Cavill travels through airports and exotic destinations in a story built around the question, "What time is it where you are?" One glance at the Spirit Zulu Time watch and he knows where he is in the world, while staying connected to his loved ones in his heart.

“For me, Spirit Zulu Time is not just about measuring time accurately, it’s also about staying connected. When our loved ones are on the other side of the world, we can see at a glance what time it is for them.”
