The name Montblanc has always been associated with precision writing tools that reflect the pinnacle of artistic processing and technical sophistication. Founded in 1906 in Hamburg, Germany, where it resides till today, it has quickly gained a reputation as a manufacturer of quality pens. For her logo, the company chose a six-pointed white star symbolizing the permanently snowed peak of Europe's highest mountain, Montblanc. The analogy between the highest apex of the Pole and the tip of the writing instruments is shown on the tip of the fountain pens, where the number 4810 and hence the height of the mountain is located. Montblanc pens were characterized by a simple system and a unique design that caused interest around the world. The Meisterstück model, introduced in 1924, became an instant legend.
