Wear adrenaline! TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph Collection

TAG Heuer announced the latest additions to its Formula 1 collection at LVMH Watch Week 2025, combining the brand’s racing heritage with the art and technology of modern watchmaking. The new collection includes four titanium chronographs.

Formula 1 holds a special place in the history of the Swiss manufacturer. The first model with this theme was released in 1986. This was the first watch to bear the TAG Heuer name, as the merger of the luxury goods company Techniques d'Avant Garde, or TAG Group for short, and the Heuer Watch Company took place in 1985. From that time on, the watch manufacturer took the TAG Heuer name. Heuer was also present in Formula 1 before the 1986 collection, as Heuer was the first luxury watch manufacturer to appear as a sponsor on a racing car.

Over the years, it has supplied timing equipment to several teams, including Ferrari, BRM and McLaren. The first F1 collection was also the first encounter with Swiss watchmaking for many. With its forward-thinking design and striking color combinations, it is still a sought-after vintage piece among collectors. The colors of the new chronographs reflect the diversity of this first collection.

The world of Formula 1 served as inspiration for the design of the new models. The design of the 44 mm titanium case recalls the aerodynamic lines of racing cars, as seen in the image above. On the side of the bezel, we can see small holes that imitate the appearance of the brake discs of racing cars. The buttons used to control the timekeeping functions are intended to remind the wearer of the mechanical feel of the world of F1, and the design of the indexes is also inspired by the nose cone of F1 cars. An ergonomic rubber strap was chosen for the watch, as they want to convey the performance orientation of TAG Heuer and Formula 1 to the wearer.

All models are powered by the TAG Heuer Calibre 16 automatic movement. The chronograph dial features three sub-dials: the chronograph minute counter at 12 o'clock, the chronograph hour counter at 6 o'clock, and the seconds hand at 9 o'clock. A date window is located at 3 o'clock. The indexes and hands are coated with NAC, which provides surface protection and contrast, and are also treated with Super-LumiNova® phosphorescence, which makes them glow white during the day and green at night. The manufacturer emphasizes that in addition to functionality, the illumination of the hands and indexes also symbolizes night racing.

Among the technical features, the sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating is worth mentioning. Also noteworthy is the screw-locking crown, which contributes to the manufacturer's guarantee of water resistance up to 200 meters.

There are differences in color combinations and surface types depending on the model. The red-titanium gray model is made with a sandblasted grade 2 titanium alloy case and red decorative elements. The dial has red lacquered details on a black opaline base. The black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) aluminum tachymeter bezel and the black rubber strap complete the look of the watch.

The red-black version has a black DLC-coated grade 2 titanium alloy case, which is complemented by red lacquered elements and in this case a red rubber strap. The dial also features the red lacquered circular stripe and some hands also shine in red.

CBZ2085.FT8093 red-black

The blue-black model is also made with a black DLC-coated grade 2 titanium alloy case with blue decorative elements. The black opaline dial has blue circular stripes and details, and a blue-black two-tone rubber strap.

CBZ2084.FT8097 blue-black

The lime-black version also comes with a black DLC-coated grade 2 titanium alloy case, but combined with lime-colored elements. The black opaline dial features lime lacquered circular stripes and details, and the strap is made in a lime-black two-tone design.

CBZ2086.FT8098 lime-black
