The Swiss brand, which hides its commitment to avant-garde solutions in its name, is now showing something truly extreme within a model family that began decades ago.

The Carrera series was invented in the 1960s by the founder’s great-grandson, Jack Heuer, and named after the Carrera Panamericana race in Mexico. From its very beginning, the aesthetic and functionality of the model range were shaped by the timing needs of motor racing.

The birth of the TAG Heuer Carrera Extreme Sport

The Carrera collection quickly captured the hearts and wrists of many with its precision and automotive feel. The 2024 TAG Heuer Carrera Extreme Sport timepieces redefine this desire for adrenaline, while their design was designed for true motorsport enthusiasts. The launch of a series of 4 stopwatch chronographs embodies TAG Heuer's commitment to continuous development and quality excellence.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Extreme Sport series has been captivating watch enthusiasts - and the Swiss manufacturer - with its cool approach to racing and performance since its launch in 2016. This year's latest versions aim to further deepen the connection with motor racing and to further strengthen its ties to the world of racing.

TAG Heuer expertise condensed into a single watch

On the side of the 44-millimeter-diameter grade 2 titanium case, the piston-shaped pushers for controlling the stopwatch and, between them, the crown for setting the time, immediately catch our eye. It is difficult to take our eyes off the side of the titanium case, as TAG Heuer's aesthetic solution here is completely novel. A recessed area has been created in the sandblasted sidewall, the pronounced edge of which surrounds a ribbing reminiscent of an air cooler.

However, the central and obviously most viewed element of the new editions is the dial itself. The bridge elements of the skeletonized dial create the impression of stiffening rods, while a keen-eyed observer can also detect the shield of the brand logo in the dial's seemingly tangled design at first.

The multi-layered dial gives the watch an exciting depth, and the circular movement of the date disc, which is left bare and fully visible, further strengthens our associations with motorsport.

Before the dials are installed

Excellent readability in low light conditions is ensured by the use of Swiss Super-LumiNova®. To further enhance the appearance, these watches are complemented by a new rubber strap that follows and matches the curve of the case, with a pattern inspired by the air intakes of racing cars.

4 different color schemes

The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport in blazing orange is inspired by the hot asphalt of the racetrack and the speed of the cars that race on it. The black grainy infill on the bridges of the skeletonized dial and the rhodium-plated dial with an orange outline on the bezel are both striking and functional.

An orange lacquered central seconds hand and date dial, an orange-painted Grade-5 titanium crown, and an integrated orange rubber strap complete the vibrant look, which contrasts spectacularly with the dark-toned subdials and ceramic bezel.

Continuing the legacy of TAG Heuer’s iconic color, the second version features a blue rim on a rhodium-plated skeletonized dial. A grade 5 titanium crown with lacquered blue paint and central seconds hand, along with an integrated blue rubber strap, enhance the piece’s carefully crafted appeal.

The Carrera Extreme Sport meets Jack Heuer's expectations for legibility with its white Super-LumiNova® coating. In the blue version, this also appears as a background for the current date and is activated with a green light at night.

For those who prefer a monochrome look, the third version of the Carrera Extreme Sport offers a special option. The black DLC-coated Grade 2 titanium case, paired with a black, sandblasted and finely polished ceramic bezel with gray markers, exudes modernity and elegance.

The skeletonized dial with black grain fill and gray outline maintains the collection's emphasis on legibility and depth. A black date dial, rhodium-plated indexes and hands tie the watch's elegant look together, providing contrast and detail.

The fourth version of the TAG Heuer Carrera Extreme Sport chronograph is a combination of grade 2 titanium, ceramic and 18k rose gold. The black ceramic bezel is enriched with gold markings, the watch exudes a mix of elegance and sportiness.

The skeletonized dial features gold-plated hands and sub-dials that combine functionality with appeal. It can be attached to your wrist with a black rubber strap that fits the shape of the case exactly.

Inside all versions is TAG Heuer's in-house Calibre TH20-00 automatic movement, which can be admired even while in operation through the sapphire crystal caseback. The metal surfaces of the bearing plates are decorated with Côtes de Genève, and the skeletonized winding weight bears the TAG Heuer shield. The in-house movement has an impressive power reserve of 80 hours, and the case seals are resistant to pressure up to 10 bar.
