Longines Flagship Heritage 3 with new color options

Born during the ’56 revolution and intended to be Longines’ flagship model, the model family now boasts new colors.

The Swiss brand known for its winged hourglass logo is expanding its Flagship Heritage collection with three new colorways. With Havana brown, anthracite gray and green dials, each featuring a moon phase complication. Paying homage to the historic Flagship models produced in the 1950s, the new Flagship Heritage combines modern-day technical expertise with timeless elegance. Each piece in the series features an 18-karat gold medallion on the back with hand-painted enamel.

In 1955, Longines management held a vote with the participation of employees, which resulted in Flagship being the name of the flagship model of the collection. Since then, Flagship has been an emblematic line for the brand, and was one of the first to be given a name, instead of the usual numbering. The name is a clear indication of the series' place within the collection, as the flagship refers to the ship on which the commander of the fleet is based.

The Flagship Heritage editions have featured a moon phase complication since 2023, and this year they have three new sunray-brushed dials. In Havana brown, anthracite grey and green, reminiscent of the color of Cuban cigars. These watches combine modern technical and craftsmanship with aesthetic appeal, while paying homage to the historic models of the Flagship series.

The real distinguishing feature of the Flagship collection since its introduction in 1957 has been an 18-karat gold medallion set into the back of the watch. The solid gold relief depicts a caravel sailing on a sea of ​​hand-painted fire enamel in a vivid blue color.

The stainless steel case with a screw-down back has a restrained and timeless design, measuring 38.5 mm in diameter. It has a satin-brushed finish and chamfered edges on the shortened lugs that fit any wrist.

These new timepieces are powered by the exclusive Longines L899.5 movement, equipped with a silicon hairspring and innovative components. This ensures magnetic resistance ten times greater than the ISO 764 reference standard. This automatic mechanical movement features a moon phase complication and a power reserve of up to 72 hours.

The new Flagship Heritage watches feature distinctive, convex dials inspired by the original 1957 model. These havana brown, anthracite grey and green sunburst dials are complemented by eleven rhodium or rose gold-plated, elongated indexes positioned at 3, 9 and 12 o’clock. The hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova® for optimal legibility and are rhodium or rose gold-plated. Their colour matches the moon and stars of the moon phase indicator.
