This Saint-Imier manufactory has gone through many milestones and has been the foundation of many patents or inventions that have made it a stable market place. But what brought the company most fame and reputation was a timeless design that never adapted to trends. A design that has been able to tell its owner after decades that he has made the right choice. These are the main reasons why Longines is one of the most common choices in choosing a watches for all life long.
A watch for life? The new Omega Diver 300
In 1957, Omega introduced model series designed to reflect the needs of specific professions. The Speedmaster with a chronograph and tachymeter scale, later known as the Moonwatch. The Railmaster, the Bienne company's answer to the anti-magnetic Rolex Milgauss (reference 6451), designed for power plant and nuclear research workers. And finally, the Seamaster 300 for divers. However, the very first Seamaster saw the light of day much earlier, in 1948.
